    cutting out

    hi there

when we brought our disco 99 v8, the engine was hunting to the point of almost staling...............we changed the airfilter and this as helped alot but it still hunts mildly but has now taking to cutting out when pulling away or driving slowly....

we assumed that it was probably an air problem possibly not the right air/petrol mix getting to the engine

anyone else had this problem or know of any simple common fault that causes this problem

    would apprectiate your comments

    thanks

Has it been serviced regularly, or had a service recently to replace filters (air/fuel) and spark plugs etc

I mean it could be a number of scenareos, by the sounds of it your air filter wasnt in the best shape it could be in if the engine came good after replaced it (the air filter should be that clogged that it almost kills the engine)

Could be an ignition problem as mentioned, but if its cutting out you'd want to get it sorted out before your forced to have it towed in to have it looked at 8)
