Could the transfer box on the back of the foton gearbox be rotated to line up with the defender axle. I know it would need the breather repositioned and possibly a couple of studs . I've not looked in a lond time as I've only just bought another defender, and I saw this post years ago. My foton is an auto and flys.

The Foton transfer case is a Borg Warner unit made under licence I guess. LH drop to the front diff which is a mounted unit with strut front end, rear goes straight out the back.
The Tunland single cab ute that I have also has a Getrag gearbox and Dana diffs, the chassis is a direct copy of the previous model Hilux to the point where a Hilux suspension kit bolted straight on without any mods. as did skid plates which only required two holes to be drilled. Hilux running boards also bolted straight on to the mounts under the cab as well. Hilux steel rims also bolt straight on after a little massaging with the Dremel.

might be cheaper to convert to LHD front end and use any centre pumpkin rear. A D44 set up from a JK jeep would be easy to source and cheap out of the US. Heaps of aftermarket support. You would have to look into steering linkage packaging which is beyond my pay grade. Simply flipping the foton TFC will result in a misalignment of the rear drive shaft. The LT230 is 4” off the centre line between chassis rails. The sals pinion is 6” offset. Thus factory offset is 2” and you are going to move it out to 4”. In a 130, that 4” puts you UJ at about 3.5deg, where 3deg is said to be max for long service life. In a 110 that angle is greater. It will work but your UJs will be a regular service item and may get vibration.
