When i replaced mine i only did the top of the window and the front edge. I don't think it had a plastic guide channel in these. I left the plastic channel in the bottom as it has drain pieces in it and I figured that if i put the bailey channel in the bottom edge it wouldn't drain. I have done well over 4000k since installing and haven't had a rattle so appears to have worked well.
