    Any advice for changing a kickdown cable

    300tdi disco
    So just now waiting for my kickdown cable to turn up and then it will be getting installed as current one is snapped have asked a few people for advice but seems no one has ever changed one, anyone on here had to change one and can offer any advice would be greatly apprieciated

    Did it once years ago. This video will give you a guide. Don't recall taking the valve box off. Remember minor trouble getting a rubber boot on the cable end to go into position, inside the gearbox. Otherwise no real dramas, just tedious. Didn't need special tools. Lots of dripping oil.     Trans sump off, valve block off to get to the cable attachment, make sure everything is spotless clean.
    From memory most guides say to remove the crossmember but i only loosened the LH mount to get the sump off, hardest part was re-routing the cable over the bellhousing, fit a filter kit while you have the pan off - wear disposable gloves.
