On my Td5, a ceramic coated exhaust manifold brought the EGTs down approximately 100deg on average. A bigger intercooler lowered them another 50deg.
On my D1, removing the front grille lowered both coolant temps and EGT.
Coolant by about 10-15°C in hot(35+) ambients.
EGT by about 50-ish or so .. hard to say exactly as conditions, road, load, etc all vary.
D1 front grille is quite restrictive, dunno about the Defender tho.
