    Provent 200 filters

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone can tell me the intervals for changing the filter. The one on the vehicle I just bought has vapour coming out around the cap. I take it this means it may be due to be changed. I drained the oil out of it as it was nearly full to the bottom of the filter.
    Cheers

I got a stainless steel mesh one off ebay that can be cleaned and chucked the old one.
Also consider putting in a drain hose to the sump then the can wont require emptying. I Tee pieced into the turbo return line to the sump.

I remember a few years back Dougal said they were not correct in some way for the 4BD1.
Anyone got a diagram how they should be connected for this engine?

I think there is an arrow on the input (from the rocker cover) and the output (to the inlet manifold.)
There is on my ebay cheapie anyway.

How long is a piece of string?

Rated intervals for a new car are something ridiculous like 50K KMs. In reality it's likely a lot lower.

It all depends on how heavy your motor breathes really. Vapour will usually happen though on an engine that breathes heavily. If it's still collecting oil then just leave it. If it's getting blocked, then change it.
