it looks like you have a bullbar fitted the lights in that will help with the load for your indicators,so you should not need a resistance in that circuit
Need help connecting LED lights to my new rear bar on my '99 D2. I have removed the factory bumper which had the fog and indicator lights in it and have replaced with LED lights - link here to 200BSTIM model of light. It's a completely sealed waterproof unit.

Coming off the back of the LED lights are 4 wires in total - 3 off the back of the red lamp (RED, BROWN & WHITE) and 1 wire off the back of the indicator side (YELLOW)
Splicing into the D2 wiring reveals 3 wires to the standard connector - 1 GREEN & WHITE, 1 RED & YELLOW & 1 BLACK 8O
I am assuming that some of the wires off the LED lights are for brake light connection, however as this will involve splicing into the wires on the upper pillar light cluster, I am going to use the red light as a fog as the factory bar had.
Can anyone tell me which wire should connect to which and also how I can add resistance as I am expecting them to flash faster (as if you have a bulb out) due to them being LED?
Thanks Mick

Cannot help you with the wiring but you may get problems with the relays not going on and off due the LED not pulling enough power. Would be good to know how you go!
Now I am an electronic illiterate but I have heard or read that resistance (or the lack of a resistor in the circuit) might be a factor....

You can solve the blinking rate by two methods,
1 ) change the blinker can,![]()
2) put an inline resistor in.![]()
Click on either of these to answer your problem

QUICK UPDATE
At this stage I have managed to solve the fast blinking problem by fitting the higher draw bulbs back in the bull bar. Have sent a PM to the god of electrics (Drivesafe) so will wait to hear what he has to say before I bail out and take it to an auto electricianops:
Thanks for the input, Mick
Hi Mick, now that you have fitted the bulbs what problems are you still having.
Cheers.
PS Sorry for the slow reply, had a late start today.
No probs Tim, how was the show yesterday?Originally posted by drivesafe

I haven't yet connected the rear led indicators and fogs as I know nothing about wiring and all the wires from the lamps and from the car are different colours so hesitant to start wiring things up in case I damage something. I have only added larger bulbs to the indicators in my bull bar which has stopped the fast flashing of the indicators.
Any help appreciated or a good place to go to get them fitted properly...I also need some spot lights wired in.
Thanks Tim, Mick
Do you have the colour codes for the disco’s wiring at one of the rear light fittings.
If not, I’ll try and find notes I made about 6 or 7 years ago.
Next, do the new LED replacements have a wiring diagram.

Lights didn't come with a diagram as I picked them up from Brooksy in Brisbane, will be speaking to him soon to see if he has one though.
Cheers again, Mick
