Has anyne had more than a 2" lift certified in QLD?
Was talking with some people recently at 4wd oulets and they said that the new regulations in Qld meant that the maximum lift allowed in all 4wd's is 50mm. I know you can do this without getting it certified but was wondering of anyone's experiences with do a bigger lift and weather that included putting on larger tyres. (ie do taller tyres contibute to the 50mm allowable or is that just suspension/body lifts).
One of the suspension installers actually said that they were removing more big lifts than putting them in.
It makes me wonder who is paying for the work because vehicles that were legal before the regulations now become illegal who's responsibility would it be to change back? I know the owner would probably be liable but I would be annoyed if my truck was legal last year at registration and not this year due to reg. changes.

Under the new regs 50mm is max suspension lift as you have said.
However in Qld the old rules (still current???) only allowed a lift of 1/3 standard bump stop clearance. From what I have seen this is quite often less than 50mm. However 50mm lift has become the norm regardless.
Larger diameter tyres don't contribute to the lift amount (for these numbers anyway).
I am not sure if you can get bigger than 50mm suspension lifts certified in Qld under the new rules but you couldn't under the old ones.
Can get a 50mm body lift under old rules. New rules not sure on size. Used to have to get Dept of Transport approval for the body lift.
