The way you tell if the idling mixtures are correct are
1 buy a colourtune- I do not know if they still make them. basically a glass spark plug, through which you can see the colour of the burning fuel in tehe chamber orange =rich blue =lean. Simple and effective. you aim for blue with orange streaks
2
Get a fine screwdriver or your fnger and slightly lift (say 0.5mm or less)the piston of each carby while it is idling.
If the revs rise a bit then fall back the mixture is correct. If the revs fall the mixture is lean. If they rise and do not return the mixture is rich.
3 find a mechanic with an exhaust gas CO sensor

I don't think I'll buy one yet as it doesn't matter what I do at the moment with the mix I doesn't make any difference.
I check the float etc first.
