Brand new D2 auto trans.....Need help!

Well last week I dropped off my D2 at a reputable auto transmission to have it rebuilt. Picked it up today ready for my big trip to QLD tomorrow. So I drive it back to work and it feels like I'm towing a 3 tonne trailer behind meBrand new D2 auto trans.....Need help!. To say I'm ****ed off is an understatement. It has so much lag and no power now it's not funny. I have a hybrid turbo, remap, 23 psi and big intercooler. Before that it was quite quick. There is black smoke belching out the back and my egt's sky rocket quickly now.
I rang them straight back when I got to work but they were about to close. So it won't be till early Jan till it goes back! One very ****ed off person I am.
So my question is what could it be causing the no power problem? Did I say I'm really ****ed off? This was a lot of money for me to spend only for it to come back worseBrand new D2 auto trans.....Need help!Brand new D2 auto trans.....Need help!

Thinking aloud check you intercooler if they let the motor hang on the mounts when they did the trans
    Could have cracked a inlet/outlet spiggot .
If they did i happen to have a spare D2A cooler handy

So this is the first time I've had a chance to check a few things on the Disco after driving back from QLD. (wasn't in the D2 by the way). Still peed off about the whole situation! One thing i may need to mention is while the transfer case was out, I gave them a D2a transfer case to put in. They said one or two of the connections may have been different and didn't connect them. I have the D2a loom which i will connect later. Would this have anything to do with what might be going on? I really have no idea at the moment.

    Cheers

might be a hose off the cooler or a hose not clamped. I've been caught with it and the symptoms all fit.

If its not that goto the 101 for the D2 td5 and disconnect the maf and map see what it does then try it with one then the other reconnected.

Intercooler hoses were the first thing I checked. There all new and the clamps are all tight. Brand new D2 auto trans.....Need help! I'll disconnect the maf and see how that goes. It's a genuine vdo I bought a few years ago. Was all working great before it went there unfortunately.

Ok so disconnected the map and maf and it ran worse. Connected the map back and it was still no good. So no changes there.
I'm beginning to think its a torque convertor problem. Its very laggy and smokey on take off and my egts will sky rocket easily.
But while cruising at 40 kmh if i kick it down it will go like it should. Revs out to 4000rpm very smoothly and quite quickly.

Transfer is 2x electrical + linkages.

1 wire indicates CDL - if this gets earthed then the light comes on. I don't think this is a worry.

The other wire indicate Hi/Lo range. This may be the culprit. If it thinks its in low range it changes the throttle mapping, tranmission operation and the ability to use HDC. If you can engage HDC I suspect it thinks its in low range. This happens if that wire somehow gets earthed. In high range you get a lot of throttle with little travel on the accelerator. In low range you get very little throttle through most of the accelerator pedal travel and then it comes on late.

This makes a lot of sense. It has very little response from down low. I will check this out tomorrow. Where does the wiring for the transfer case run from and to?
