It will bolt straight in, 24 splines is better than 10 there ,may be some slight differences in the brake fittings but i'm not 100% on that.
My rear diff in my '89 Rangie is about to die, so im looking at puting another diff in.
Can i put a 24 spline diff from a series 1 disco in? Will it just bolt in or do i have to fabricate anything?
Also is it worth spending the extra money on a 24 over a 10 spline? I would like to put in an air locker in the future and i run 32" muds. Will the 24 spline be ok?
Thanks

I have 1997 Disco axels in my 1988 Rangie - bolts straight in, just need to be aware if they donor vehicle is an ABS one.

Are you looking at changing over the entire axel or just he diff centre.
I have a 2004 Disco Diff centre in the front of my '77 Rangie, bolts straight in but I think you would need to get maxidrive axels which are 24spline at diff and still suit the rangie hubs.
im thinking of changing the entire diff, disc to disc. Have been told this is cheaper than rebuilding current diff. I was quoted $700 for a complete 24 spline disco diff. Is that reasonable?
G'Day mate
whoever told you it was cheeper to spend $700 bucks rather than re-building your center is off his rocker if theres no chiped or broken teath on the CW&P set all thats in there are to bearings approx $60 &$40 bucks and a 10 dollar seal you can rebuild it yourself with a little bit of common sence
