SupporterFitted up the short shifter. Its real tight fit. Can’t find the gate for reverse. I know it can be a problem for some and not for others. Has anyone found a work around. Be it a shim, a bit of grinding. Any tips would be welcome.

SupporterHow you contacted the manufacturer of the short shift and asked for advise? Might be a good start before grinding it. Also they may have had the problem before and able to quickly advise on the resolution or tell you if their product is to blame and faulty.

SupporterFYI - after fiddling around we found a way to improve finding reverse with the quick shifter (in my case just finding the gate for reverse). the mechanic loosened off the 4 bolts that fix the shifting mechanism plate to the box and pushed the plate to the right by a few mm (about 3mm) then nipped it up. That was enough to allow the shifter to find the reverse gate. For those that started with a tight but not impossible reverse this might improve it for you.
