You need to track down a DVD series called a "4x4 is Born"
Its a very detailed (15 hours), entertaining and informative video production (originaly made for Discovery Channel) on exactly what you are considering - making a range rover hybrid using a modified range rover chassis and series or 110/90 body work. Lots of good ideas, inspiration and tips even if you decide not to do it exactly the same way he did.
I would go with 100" wheel base - apart from not having to cut and shorten the rangie chassis in a critical structural area, 100" is about the ideal off road wheelbase anyway.
I also have a lot of photos of my 100" hybrid, PM me with your email address if you would like some.
Ok the boss has spoken, I am rechassising :?: My old race truck it is 100 leaf spring ATM. So it is now getting a rangie chassis, Starting this wek sometime so I will post pics as it goes. As far as body goes it is allready modified so I can only give distructions on this part of it.
