I ran land rover gear years on my 110 for many years
Pegged front, Ashcroft CW&P, Cvs and axles

Rear converted sals to 60 Dana with 1.5" 35 spline axles.
33% reduction in the LT230 transfer.

35 Simex Tyres with beadlocks 10 psi at times.

Rover 4.2 V8 so not too much torque or weight.

Used to worry about the driveline, but found I could stomp on it really as much as I liked. Tough tracks. Plenty of throttle. Wheelspin. Never an issue.

Only issues were ashcroft CVs the outer bells deformed around the balls. Got real, clicy. Used a die grinder to smooth out the deformations a few times, but gave up after a few times (this all took a few years) they supplied new ones half price if i remember right.

You could see the rub marks on the back of ther CW&P when hit the pegs as it deflected.

In my experince the LR stuff isn't as bad as people make out. I'm not saying its strong, just not as weak as everyone says, if some mods are done.

The bad name of the rover gear is may be a result of the rover diff throwing out the centre pins of the spider gears, cause the locking pins wears when spun too much that is the issue. This is the classic pin tsicking theough the housing we have pobably all seen.

So, probably a dumb question, but would having traction control reduce the likelihood of causing a breakage, since it would stop wheels from spinning?

From my observation selectable lockers is much easier on the drive train than ABS.....in the easy to mild bracket of off roading.
