300Tdi injector pump ERR4419 - What is the Bosch part number

    Howdy all.

A question for the brains trust...

Does anyone have the Bosch part number for the 300Tdi injector pump?
    It will look like this

    0 460 494 138

and there might be a R XXX number as well.

It seems that my one isn't stamped where it should be

In theory, the part number should be on a metal tag as Bosch use the same pump design for a number of different applications. We've had the same problem trying to track down part numbers for the pump and spares for it here in the UK.

The part number actually forms part of a description. The items it covers are no. of high pressure outlets, ram diameter, rpm, rotation direction, mechanical compensation, EGR*etc, and finally......a type number of two digits.....

It's those last 2 digits that we got stuck on.....

Mind you, I last looked into this a little while ago so maybe the problem has been resolved while I've been away.

    I'll ask around.

Bugger, you'd have to ask the day after I put the bit of paper in the recycling, and it's either dig thru or go out the back and look at the old pump. No way, it's icky.

    0460-414-098 Bosch
    4851-978-108 Pump

Those are the numbers my mechanic gave me from the pump.

If they're not looking right I'll go look at the icky pump tomorrow.

    Cheers

    Thankyou gentlemen..

Thankyou gentlemen..now to explain a little further... I've been spending too much time with ebay, and I got to wondering about having a spare injection pump. If the worst happens i can fix or limp along with most things, but if the pump goes ( And yes I know it shouldn't if I look after it) I'd be stuck. However, Tdi specific pumps are expensive. I found a listing for a 97 Peugeot TDI pump with a PN of
    0 460 494 342.
And a listing in Germany ( The germans call it an EINSPRITZPUMPE ) for a VW Jetta (TDi)
    0 460 494 138
Notice how that stacks up against Mr Abaddonxi's ( PS Ta for the info)PN
    0 460 494 098

Might have to have a talk with a diesel guru to sort it out, under the heading of alternative parts.

    Interesting huh!

OK... I see what you're doing but you might want to get along to www.deltapressltd.co.uk (or look for an Oz equiv.) and buy the Bosch rotary fuel pump manual. There's loads of useful info in there that will probably help you out in your quest.
