Problems with chipped TD5 killing me!!!! PLEASE HELP

I continue to have problems with my chipped Defender. Was driving to work today and intermittantly the vehilce at full throttle just had no power and limited boost particularly when engine accelerating rapidly.

It seemed strangled at full throttle as if there was not enough fuel feeding the engine.

The problem is not with the computer as this has been changed 3 times now. Following has also been done:
    1. Intercooler pipes checked for delamination.
    2. Engine wiring harness under cam cover replaced.
    3. Main engine harness partially stipped back near gearbox and checked for oil - NONE.
    4. ECU is not producing ANY codes at all, it is clean.

Please guys help me out. It has been suggested to me that the fuel pump is getting old in the tooth and not providing enough pressure/volume to feed the injectors - the problem gets worse the longer I drive the car, seems OK for first 15-20 min drive and then progressively gets worse.

Please chip in with any ideas/suggestions. Many thks Daz
The truck also has the larger intercooler.

    I'll ask the obvious ones.

Fuel filter? Dirt and stuff blocking the intercooler? Wastegate thingy? Lift pump diaphragm leaking air into system? Sedimenter?

    hth

    Cheers

    Hey Simon
I replaced the fuel filter approx 4 weeks ago, have not pulled the intercooler out yet to flush, the waste gate has been adjusted by Bruce Davis and the boost sensor replaced as it was showing a fault, so the vehicle is not overboosting.

Dont know how to check the lift pump diaphram or sedimenter???

By the looks the TD5 does not have either a lift pump or a sedimenter(according to details on the Rave CD).

They don't have a main fuel pump either, its all done by the injectors.

As I recall your car you wouldn't need full throttle very often!

Have you checked for blockage on the inlet side? Air filter collapsed, something in the snorkel?

    Regards

Redback it is an early 2001 and it is the BDavis chip and intercooler. I have the ECU(chip) that needs to be swapped out - cant upload codes to it.

How you going Tusker - have not checked the snorkel for blockages, will do tonight. The air filter is a little dirty but by no means collapsed.

I dont have the original chip that Corey ran in the vehicle, I wanted to upgrade it as the power came on very suddenly and it have no go below 2000 RPM.

Bruce upgraded it to the standard 140Kw map and it has has at least 3 of these ECU's put in it - all with the same result - poor performance after driving the vehicle for a period of time????

You may have to go back to the original chip (ECU SWAP) if this chip/intercooler doesn't work, from memory greylandy had the same problem in his 2002 model def.

Speak to Bruce, he should be trying to fix it, and of cause for free, as he has done for me when a chip doesn't do what it's supposed too.
