    TD5 10P Cylinder head for a 15p motor

    Hi Guys,
I'm looking at selling a pretty good 10p cylinder head to a guy who has a 2002 Defender with a 15p motor that has a valve bearing on its way out. Looking around Google, it seems do- able. What would he need to do to make it possible? I know the injectors need swapping over, what else?
I know the best option would be a Turner head, but $$ are limited.
    Thanks in advance, David.

Do-able but backward step ( for him ) , he will need to blank the front pipe on the fpr , what is a valve bearing?

My bad, it would be a camshaft bearing.

OK, he has decided to do that, the cam, whatever in rotates in, is knocking apparently. Been a few years since I fitted an AMV head to mine, so memory is vague.

I'm really not sure this is a good idea, are you going to use the late model injectors of the early? Either way he'll Need the early fpr, I don't think the early rocker setup is strong enough for the late injectors, so that means must use early style, then the tuning in the ecu will be wrong as well.

I was going to put a late head in my early disco, the block was already 22 or 24p (short crate motor) but there was too much stuff missing, injectors, cam, valve gear, fpr etc. I'd advise to try and stay with some commonality, otherwise the next thing will be poor /strange performance with the early injectors, and unreliability with the late ones as far as cam chain and valve gear goes.
Plus an fpr is a few hundred dollars itself

    Cheers
    James
