Thanks guys, i was thinking of doing that, when it starts pooring out black smoke and uses as much fuel as a V8 i will change them then.Matt
mate, prior to diesel ownership, the word was "injectors every 60-100,000km", yet the Patrol has just passed 200,000km, and the 'fender is on 187,000km and both are running better than ever, (and we've had the Patrol since new).
Both have had regular doses of Redline 85 Plus or RL2 (my preference) cleaner/lubricant, or if I'm out, a small squirt of Castrol TTS (synthetic 2 stroke lube) just for the pump.
I'm sure the break pressures would now be down on what they were originally, but both sets must be atomising the fuel ok going by how they are running.
Thanks guys, i was thinking of doing that, when it starts pooring out black smoke and uses as much fuel as a V8 i will change them then.Matt

My 200 TDI has clicked over 302,000 k's still on the origional injectors and runs as smooth as ever and only just visible smoke trial under heavy pulling.
Seems to be using a little more fuel than it used to though. Last time I tested it I got 34 MPG traveling approx 95-100 kph with a slight tail wind. ( light load, no trailer or roof rack) Most of the time under 30 MPG.
I tried Mooreys for a while which did not make any difference. All it did was block the tank fuel canister inlet valve which caused fuel starvation below approx quarter tank.
As someone suggested on this thread I will get a couple spare injectors to carry just in.
Cheers
I think that will be my game plan when i get the cash. mattOriginally Posted by Graz
