300TDi Exhaust Manifold Studs - which way around?

    Hi All

I've lost an exhausted manifold stud. I have new ones. Which way to they go? One end has about 10 mm of thread and the other end about 20mm of thread.

Which end goes into the block?

    Thanks
    Andrew
