    Headlight Sockets H4

    Hello All,

Looking on eBay as my first step in familiarising myself what is available, I found that there are two types of H4 Headlight sockets.

The first type are all plastic. The second type are ceramic where the headlight pins go in.

Are the ceramic types longer lasting and more reliable?

My Series 2A and my Series 3 headlight sockets seem to be all crumbling at the same time.

    Kind regards
    Lionel

I think the ceramic ones would be better with higher wattage lights =more heat generated.

Yes - I;ve had the plastic ones melt with standard bulbs, driving in the daytime with lights on and a hot (50C) day.
