    Discovery TD5 lacking power

My grandfather noted his TD5 is lacking in power and I decided to check it out.

I don't have much experience with this car so I'm asking so I can get a general starting point and some things to check.

The nanocom shows the Turbo pressure at 1.07 bar max and Air flow maxing out at 410gr/s at full throttle going up hill at 3300 rpm.
The EGR has been removed and I'm not sure if that would effect it considering the fault code it throws in the ECU.
Turbo hoses have been replaced in the past with silicone replacements and are in good condition.
Full pressure regulator and block has been replaced in the past due to leaking.
Turbo has been replaced in the past following an oil feed issue.

I don't know how long the car has had this problem because he only noticed it while towing his van very recently.

Have you changed the air filter?

A collapsed turbo to intercooler hose or intercooler to egr is pretty common.

Also while you are checking, remove the MAP/boost sensor from the inlet manifold and clean it with electronics cleaner , and check that the EGR valve is not gunged up.
    They are all pretty common.
1.07 is pretty correct, but 410grams indicates the MAF is stuffed or dirty. Should be 600+

MAF and MAP have been cleaned with MAF cleaner every time the air cleaner has been changed.
    EGR has been removed.
The silicone Turbo hoses are in good condition.

Should I consider replacing the MAF?

To rule out the MAF unplug it and drive it so...if it runs better with it unplugged you have to change it. Though presuming that the MAF/MAP readings are correct watch if the ambient air pressure reading drops up to 4 units under load or not... if the AAP reading is stuck to 100kPa the sensor is fubar and that's why the boost is limited by default to 1 bar(+/- 0.1)... btw, is the EGR still on?, if yes it might be clogged also if it's Eu3 the CAT can be clogged as well if it's still on.

If the AAP is OK take a multimeter set on mV and measure across fuse F10 in situ, if you dont get around 23mV but close to 10mV the fuel pump's HP stage is gone and there are cases when the engine runs OK this way but without power... it's explained here Check Td5 fuel pump HP
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned

I was hoping to try some of your recommendations but we're running into some problems with the bonnet being stuck down. Bonnet pull is loose but cable is attached at both ends so I think it is jammed in the unlocked position. I'm not sure how to get it apart but tomorrow I think I'm going to cut the plastic backer out and see if I can force it open from there.

Due to the multiple people working on it, it is possible that the bonnet may have been closed on a tool or something.

This is my worst nightmare... A land rover with a stuck bonnet, essentially rendering the car valueless, a distressing situation!

Try getting someone to push down on the bonnet while you are trying release it, quite some effort/weight may be required.
