drain the tank, drop the fuel filter, refil from jerries of diesel replace fuel filter crank it till it starts.
so long as you only added 1/2 a tank or so and didnt drive it hard you'll be ok.
Oh no, ended up filling up with Petrol instead of diesel in kia sportage, drove 1.2k home when we realised it. What to do now?
Bugger...

Noticed a business I have not used myself here What to do if you put Diesel in a Petrol Car?
A second look makes it clear people other than you do it in Sydney as well. Looks like a Franchise. Do not start the car until you get it fixed or do it yourself.
The web site is more strict for good reasons "Do not start your engine if you accidentally put petrol in your diesel vehicle. It is important to not even place your key in the ignition as this can prime the fuel pump. You should contact a wrong fuel recovery service who will conduct a fuel drain and flush."
Thank, the tank had about 20% left when i filled up, thats more than half. I’ll drain it and replace the fuel filter. Thanks for your help.
Update. Drained the 50l tank and got just over 50l out of it. Took about 40 seconds to start chucking and cluttering but now she seems to be running smoothly.... phew.
On the bright side i now have enough fuel for the blower and lawnmower for the next 40 years...
And the injectors were well cleaned too![]()
Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
this is (another reason) why you always fill up before you get to the halfway point on the tank.

Some years ago I was looking at Data Sheets for diesel, and Alpine (winter) Diesel from BP was 20%ULP, suggesting that the hype about panicking over any slight misfuel is not warranted

In another life I used to purchase commercial quantities of Alpine Diesel for a large fleet consisting of the likes of bull dozers, cranes, prime movers, flat bed trucks and a multitude of various Toyota fourbies. The Alpine Diesel was a 50/50 mix of diesel and heating oil.
