I would expect the yoke to be worn so not just a new uni required unless the clip has been spinning without disturbing the grease, which doesn't appear to have happened.
Walking past my vehicle in the drive, a bright reflection under the vehicle caught my eye. It was the bearing cap in a rear UJ.

You can see the bright section around the needle bearing cap - looks like the cap has been turning and wearing where it touches the circlip (the bright area).
The UJ is not showing any other symptoms of the needles being seized such as vibration or noise, but none of the other three bearing caps show this bright wear pattern. I really dont feel like pulling it all out to replace the UJ so would like ideas first.
Thanks
Garry

Replace the UJ, put Loctite on the cap to stop it spinning?

Ah poop - you lot will not give me the answer I want.
So I guess it all needs to come out and replaced - bummer.
Thanks for all the responses - I will replace and put some Loctite Bearing fit on the caps as well.
Cheers
Garry

I wouldn't loctite the caps in place if you ever want to get it apart again, unis are a ****** at the best of times.
I love Loctite products and use bearing retainer and liquid metal in electric motor housings that have flogged out but I wouldn't use it there, too much axial load
It'll be pretty obvious if it's been spinning in the yoke, which it has, that cap will fall out.
Not just the U-joint that strictly needs replacing - the bearing cap is hardened, so the wear is probably in the yoke. While it is possible the circlip is turning, this seems unlikely as they are supposed to be sprung into place.
I would be inclined to clean it up and, despite what Rick says, remove the circlip, add some loktite 603 and replace the circlip. And keep an eye on it.

Thanks Rick and John for those additional comments - I will pull it out and find out what is going on - irrespective, new UJs front and rear and a new yoke (I think I have one) if there is wear in there.
Cheers
