No experience with the enginesaver but for a few $$$ extra you can get an alarm sensor for water level, oil pressure, realtime engine temp and alternator voltage check all in one neat little black box. I've got one fitted to my TD5 ..

    demo here ... http://www.4x4gadgets.com.au/ems_demo.html

They've got installation guides for all Land Rover's, just send them an email.

    Thumbs up Low coolant alarm

    Hi Wayne,

Had one fitted to my 1998 Disco Tdi auto some three years ago. I test it regularly to ensure that the alarm still works and have never had any troubles. Also gives me quite a lot of satisfaction knowing that I have a little extra protection when out bush. Will

From the link under the order section the price is about $153

    http://www.enginesaver.com.au/orders.htm

A discount was offered to AULRO members by the supplier

I'll dig this out and let every one know what the discount was.

Looking at the wiring diagram, it taps into almost all existing circuits which are switched to warnings anyway.
$153 is a lot to pay for a coolant level switch! Everything else is already fitted. It is a fancy gadget. The warranty is interesting also.

    Trev,

The point is that more often than not, especially in D1's if the water reservoir cracks, or somwhow your coolant drains, by the time your temp gauge or anything else tells you (if it does), it's too late.
I know - I had this happen to me on the beach - at high tide. Gauge never regisered anything useful, I went by smell and heat! Thousands and thousands of dollars later, (after a new engine), I fitted one of these suckers. Cheap insurance for a known issue/fault - if done BEFORE said incident.

As I've said before, if i had left the vehicle there and the sea took it, I would've been covered and come out ahead!!!
It's not always the best option to recover your vehicle

Please help me as I am confused....two units have been mentioned: one is purely a low level alarm (LLA) and the other is a more comprehensive unit that includes a LLA.

The first offers a discount to AULRO and costs $153.00 and the other is a sponsor and I don't know how much
