    thirsty

I have a 91 3 door discovery 3.5v8 in excellent cond but want to fit a diesel motor to it. Does anyone know if a td5 motor will fit or has anyone heard of a 2.8 litre turbo diesel made by International in Brazil for landrovers.

The 2.8 Diesel for Brazil is a really good engine. It is a 300 tdi which is improve and more power. Know a few people with them who are very happy with them .And belive me is a better choice thn the TD5. Manly because of the electrics needed in the TD5

There's even someone lurks on this forum that sells em but from memory you are looking at upwards of $10K for the engine plus fitting etc.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    That'd be me (thanks guys)

(lucky! I almost didn't read the "thirty" thread, I thought it was about beer )

Yes I import the HS2.8TGV (this is the good one, did you know there are 2 types of HS2.8? there is also wastegate version, slightly cheaper but less HP cause of wastegate type turbo, for my money not worth saving a few hundred $$ on)
anyway yes the HS2.8TGV is a brand new factory hot rodded version of the old 300 Tdi (they also still make the 300 Tdi for LR for some of the o/seas markets that don't want electronic engines?)
anyway yes they are good (very very good) & yes they are expensive $10,500 normally to public BUT $10,000 inc GST to AULRO members
    (at $10k I make exactly $218 less interest on my o/draft )
I have 2 unsold engines currently in stock but once they are gone I will only be bringing in engines as ordered & after I get a deposit (by time they sit there and cost me interest I actually loose money )

there is a yahoo group with loads of info see hs2800TDI also another group a Canadian guy is getting going at www.obwcanada.com

I'm away on working holidays next 2 weeks (but will check in here occasionally) ask any questions you have but sorry If I'm a bit slow answering them

    thanks
    Jase
