I thought previous owner had neglected changing them for ages as the rubber boots were well perished however I've noticed the new ones after only half a Queensland summer have already started to show signs of cracking and splitting.

I think I found the solution while drooling over Gywn Lewis 4x4 suspension gear. Poly Boots are made of polyurethane and shouldn't deteriorate like rubber.

I'll report back how they go in 6 months time.

I had the same problem with TRE boots for Series vehicles, 3 years in a dark shed and they decomposed.

I found that aftermarket suppliers like RoadSafe have something that will fit and seems to last much better. Also found one from a Tractor supplier (Sparex) that fits, bit tight on the pin end and doesn't come with garter springs but was v. cheap.

Interested to hear how the polyboots perform.

Is there an Australian supplier for the Polyboots? Their website at Ball Joint Boot and Tie Rod End Boot from Polyboots doesn't seem to indicate?
