Grrr, I'm king of blowing these hoses.
The ZF runs full pressure through the cooler when the torque converter is locked up - thats up to 125psi!!!
A friend has just had it fail at the same spot also and managed to use cable zip ties to hold it together long enough to get home.

With the quick connect to the cooler, it fills up with crud. You'll need to clean it out with fluid until all the grit is out and then it'll free up. Don't get any water into the ATF though.

I've just pulled out the parts to check. That black plastic ring is the release mechanism. The problem though is that it gets a whole stack of crap under it and that prevents the release from working. Its exactly the same as the stupid fuel line quick releases. If you can get your hands on a syringe or something to inject water, spray water under high pressure into the back of the quick release mechanism and try to flush the crap out. The mud makes it stick. When you've done that, the black plastic ring should slide backwards and forward which releases the hose. When you pull it back towards you, that is then in the release position. With it pulled back you will then have to jiggle the whole connection back and forward until it pops out.
By just pulling on the hose you wont get it off. Its all high pressure fittings in there, and you will ust end up breaking the hose that comes off the cooler.
I've checked the RAVE disk also, and there isn't anything terribly specific about releasing the quick connect in there except some talk of a screw in the connection, but I dont think my one had that as far as I could see.
Cheers
