    When to replace 300tdi injectors?

    Hi all

My 1998 300Tdi 130 now has 320,000kms on the clock. I am the third owner and have owned it for over 11 years now.

I am about to have the injection pump rebuild (leaking seals) and rebuild the turbo (billet cartridge and ceramic coat the manifold and turbo cartridge), and it got me thinking about the injectors.

I have no complaints about the engine - it runs well, but should I be looking at replacing the injectors?

If so, do I simply replace with new or do I get the current ones refurbished?

    Cheers

I was wondering the same a few months ago. My Tdi has about the same km as yours. Instead of getting new ones I pulled them and got them tested. They were all fine. Cost me nothing to get them tested. Incidentally I did have one injector fail about 10 years ago. At bit of the nozzle fell apart and dropped into the cylinder and made very unpleasant noises. 😧 Only replaced the failed injector so the other three are still original.

I also had my injection pump rebuilt too a couple of weeks ago after it sprung a leak. Partly reinstalled at the moment as still wanting on other parts to arrive. Going to Fraser at the end of the week 🙄. Just as well I have a spare puma I can take instead 😆. A spare vehicle is almost essential kit for tdi owners I think.
