    Fan blower not working

Hi, this issue concerns a L322 but am posting here as would be similar potential problems/solutions in RRS and D3/D4. My fan blower has stopped working and I'm replacing things in order of expense/access:

    > fuses, relays and earths checked

    > replaced the final stage resistor...didn't fix the problem but interestingly the old one was getting much hotter than the new one

    > took the climate control panel apart, cleaned and refitted...didn't fix the problem but am wondering if I should try another panel which can be obtained for around $250 second hand. I had the panel to fan motor voltage tested and it fluctuates up to 2.5 volts and cuts out to zero periodically - is this normal???

    > if I still have a problem the final stage will be to replace fan motor itself...obviously a massive hassle/expense to remove dash, although the FFRR site has a description to remove the top of dash and cut through the plastic that is over the fan motor...turning a two day job into a two hour job for the brave...

What year L322? If early, there’s probably little in common with the D3/4/RRS.

Thought I'd post an update on this. After lots of stuffing around to find another reason why the fan blower wasn't working, it turns out that it was in fact the FSR and that the Bearmach replacement was faulty which is obviously pretty unacceptable for a brand new replacement from a supposedly reputable supplier. Ended up having a replacement FSR from BMW parts supplier...genuine part for only $130 which was about the same price as the crap no-name Bearmach aftermarket replacement... Lesson learned...when replacing anything electronic, stick with genuine...
