    End of warranty inspection

    Evening all.

I just been through the archives and whilst the topic has been done before, I've not found that which I seek.

The beast is out of warranty come August and I kinda like the idea of someone who knows his stuff giving it the once over prior.

So ... anyone recommended in Brisbane. I know of the bloke at Nerang and have heard good things about MR Auto, but both are a tad distant from me.

    Any other suggestions ???

    Cheers

    Out of warranty inspection.

I went through the same exercise here in Perth. Got an independent expert to give it a check over but he didn't drive it ......."too busy....".

The main stealer did a check and changed the clutch master cylinder but advised that as far as they were concerned there was nothing wrong with the transmission on the Defender.
In fact since new I've questioned whether it changes properly or not (clashes between 2nd and 3rd and difficult to engage 2nd from 1st when first driving) and a mechanic has driven the beast but always their answer is that they reckon it's OK.
I'm still not satisfied but what can I do now it's out of warranty?

I've changed the oil several times but there's been no discernable difference so I'm not particularly happy.

I'm not sure they'd take any notice of an independent if they said it was not right anyway, so I suppose now I'll have to live with it or go to the darkside and buy a Toyosan!!!!
    Hope you have better luck.
    Alan.

Are you the first owner? Did you document your concerns, and do you have them recorded? Is the car less than 1-2 years out of warranty. If the answer is yes, then I reckon you'd have a chance. But act NOW.

I think they would help you for a catastrophic failure up to 4/5 years as
a goodwill gesture. Things like this though are far more grey...

    Smile

Try Rover Tech at Chermside, have found them to be good in the past.

Shane at Techno British may also be able to help they are at Moorooka

Or Paul at Rover Care Slacks Creek

However Ricks and M.R are the picks
