Sorry I didn’t see this earlier
Years ago I had an alloy rim on a commondoor
Had an area in the centre of rim (mid point between beads) that was porous.
In a bucket test you could see feint bubbles coming though the alloy.
Spoke with a tyre guy who was like
Hmm yup porous
Take tyre off
Clean with thinners then paint “this” over the area
See it pretty often “this” is the best fix
He handed me a glass jar and poured some “this” in!!!
Now “this” is water thin clear liquid that I can only assume has some sealant in it.
Anyways - I did as he says and the liquid soaked into the inside of the rim and is got a feint amount of liquid on outside before nothing.
Leak fixed permanently
I’m really sorry I have no idea what the actual stuff was but obviously there is a product available for sealing porous alloy rims of old mate tyre bloke had a 20L drum of it??? Being so thin it soaked through the alloy and would make a better seal that something adhering to the inside.
Tyre bloke said he would use it for small cracks even with some success
