    Mine also does it, just bought it but i think its the thrust bearing

    Hi All
    Thanks for the info Defenderzook I will have it replaced at the same time. I would not like to have that noise in it after replacing the clutch.

    has anyone found out what the squeal is for sure?? mine is starting to get worse i hear the squeal between gear changes and also when warm, the other thing that tweeked my memory when i was at landrover asking about the gear oil they said that the dextron makes the syncro's squeal and that you should use the caltex something 95 oil
    any ides??

    Intens - There has been much discussion regarding transmission oils, do a search... Caltex MTF 94 or Castrol Syntrans are the LR recommended oils. I had ATF in my LT77 gearbox, then filled with Syntrans. Shift quality when hot is much improved.
