I find a set of BF Goodrich MT/R or Goodyear MT/R that will do 80-100000 km on a Disco very cheap motoring per km for no or very few punctures. Excellent grip and little or no other problems.

There is no point compromising over the long km you will get from a new set of quality tyres. Quality is very cheap per km.

You can't beat quality for the long haul. These will take you any where you want to go at any time.

Well these are retreads and totally agree dont buy retreads.

BUT I would buy remoulds anyday - these are a complete bead to bead rebuild using a quality case as a base.

I used to run remoulds all the time and never had an issue - VERY good value for money

welp there really arent to many options available round here.

    225/75/16
    BFG's i can get for around $245
    Goodyear Wrangler MT for $244
    Hankook RT01 for around $196
    Eldorado RT Trailcutter for $230

Sava dont do a MT only an AT but nearly all the guys said they have a lot of problems with sava overall but not sure if the AT was one of the ones they have trouble with :P

bucket loads of AT tryes in that size but most have fairly closed tread pattern except the trailcutters.

    hmmmmm still hunting.....

I'm not sure this will help all that much, but for what it is worth I fitted a set of Hankooks to the MINI to replace the Yokohama es100s. I'm normally a quality quality quality tyre person so this is very unlike me but I did it to save tsome $ with the baby coming. I saved $500 over the yokos Its early days, but at the moment I'd say it was a good move. They seem quite ok. Definately a good $500 save

Also a mate of mine to does a lot of desert work (in the simpson at the moment) really likes the hankooks. If they are going to get speared with gidgee you might as well save the $$
