Coming to a stop the unit appeared to work fine and would sometimes work as per normal, then sitting there it would randomly show some speed(up to about 40k/h IIRC) and or bounce a little, other anomalies noticed was that as you came to a slow stop, speedo would just sit at say 40k/h even after you actually stopped too.

brothers' never went as high as 160k/h, and I'm only going off memory here, but maybe 40-60k/h. it would do randomly weird stuff like bounce around or just hold steady at say 60k/h .. odo would always operate too.

I would bypass the C6100 unit and see if that stops it.
I have shared my experince with HUNTER DI SPARES and he responded straight away, and with no questions asked….. “hi send C6100 back to me or I will send one more to you”….. I gotta say that’s Impressive product supportBouncing Speedo Needle

I chose the second option but I will still return mine to him.

I may have my wires crossed but aren't these things fed by the alternator feed or am I thinking of something else?

Don't know if it helps but my D1 had this problem & it turned out to be a dodgy spade behind the Alt. which was difficult to get to & see. I'll go now shall I?

I reckon you're thinking tacho, but OP has speedo issue.

On a D1, it's an electronical doodad at the gearbox(TC) end, so if it goes bouncy .. it'd have to be a simple electrical issue somewhere in the wires.

OP's has a speedo corrector which feeds in between BCU and speedo readout, so most likely the culprit .. but not positively so.

Good work from the HunterDi bloke too!

You are correct Arthur. I was. Damn! I knew it was something a bit odd. Insert self flagellation smiley here

The speedo was connected electrically to a Transducer screwed to the gearbox wasn't it. I had trouble with that as well when the tiny pointed spinny thing (plastic?????) inside was damaged somehow, prob from new I suspect, which saw the Transducer body fitted off centre. It sits at a bit of an odd angle, not "square on" as one would expect.

If removed, great care needs tro be observed when refitting it back.

Wiring down there always seemed to me to be open for future damage as the separate wires (just two as I recall ??????) at the end of the wrapped cable just float in the air & away from the spades/plug.

Hope this helps as I don't have a 3rd suggestion & I am not at all familiar with the above mentioned Corrector..
