Strangely enough, making the speedo over read is actually a legal requirement in a lot of countries (UK included). [If you want to get bored sh1tless, read up on our SVA regs....] The basic idea is that it's best to over read than under i.e. reduces your speed and it means that if you get done for speeding you can't turn around and say that the speedo is wrong!

You can get them correctly calibrated but it's not cheap... Your best bet, if you want something accurate, is to install something like a TerraTrip or just use the GPS.

Legal requirement for Australian Design Rules I understand is plus 10% Minus 0%, so its legal.

It is also exactly the same error as my 110 has been since I have had it (varies slightly with tyre wear), and the odometer over reads by the same amount, so I suspect it is as designed.

and it is exactly the same as my Defender was with 235/85/16's.
It's been discussed numerous times on various forums and people either use their GPS, or if you fit something like 255/85's it pretty much corrects it.

mine does the same I checked with the GPS..probably tyres 285/75/16
well at least won't get booked for speeding 93/100
