Aftermarket Cruise Control - Tdi Disco

I have an aftermarket CC on my tdi disco and it seems to be making a kind of vacum leak kind of noise when i accelerate hard ? It is definately coming from above my feet/ behind the dash where the unit is mounted , there is also a black plastic sphere which i assume is a vacumm reservoir ?
I am not sure but i think i saw a post a while back from PhilipA or someone else with a similar noise.

    Does the CC work ?

When you accelerate the air accumulated in the CC bellows 'black plastic sphere' - will be pushed out purely by the action of accelerating.

It works no problem just the noise sounds like an exhaust leak when i accelerate, at cruising speed @ 100kph its quiet, i did read on a post somewhere maybe on another forum that there is a foam filter that fits on a hose that vents excess vacum and its supposed to muffle the sound but i cant see any hose end or piece of foam ?

why dont you mount the vacum tank under the bonnet then you wont hear anything over the rattle of a TDI

It is under the bonnet just below the brake booster.

This is my plan of attack, to plug the inlet hose and see if it stops the noise.
at first i thought it was an exhaust leak but the sound is definately coming from where the cc is mounted, i cant see a brand name on it so maybe i will unbolt it to see if there is a sticker on it somewhere and get some more info on it. It works great and it would be a shame to have to remove it.
