G`day all, I`m after pictures of people home made rear storage sets ups for the back of a 110. I have done a search and there is heaps of old threads on the subject, but none of the pictures seem to be active.

Any pictures or links would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

					Hi Cols,

Have a look at http://www.overland.co.za/Packing_Systems/ You should get a few ideas after wading through all the examples. I personally don't like storage systems as such, I've only got a drawer for the recovery gear, camp oven, lights etc.

My setup. What you can't see is the 80-litre stainless steel water tank under the drawers' top deck in front of the drawer & in between the wheel arches. Tap is on the rear bar.

					hey col

as promised

i knocked this up pretty for my simpson trip last year, suited my needs for the trip

the draw is full length, and the fridge slide is set up for the 40L engle

the space behind the fridge is taken up by two deep cycle batteries on the bottom and a storage area above the batteries for spare parts, oils etc. after i finished it i soon found out how much of a pain it is to check the batteries, i access the batteries and spares through the back seat

as i wanted to used the max width the door hold open was my next problem, fixed it with a gas strut

it was all done on a tight budget and tight timeframe for the simpson but the project kept growing, i made a new cargo barrier along with a 72 litre water with pressure pump and tap on the rear door. i covered it all in marine carpet

my only problem is when i need to load big things in the back the bloody fridge is in the way, the other annoying area is the space between the fridge and drivers side, other than that i pretty happy with the outcome, i don't reckon it will ever come out

i have a few other pics if you like

					Hiya Col

I wanted to keep a flat floor, so this is what I ended up with:

Close up of the recessed rail system with the removeable rings:

After gluing down the rubber:

P.S. Only 17 weeks to go before we'll be in Dubai.

OK all, thanks for all the input, greatly appreciated.

I went out yesterday afternoon to try and find some good HD runners, thinking that if I can find them, then I can get on with the rest of it.

Living here in Dubai you have to look at the hardest thing to find before diving into any project, and yes as expected I hit a brick wall, you can buy anything here as long as it is the newest electronic gadget, camera mobile phone, etc, but trying to buy something a little out of the ordinary and practical is sometimes next to impossible. So my options are to import some(which is starting to get expensive) or wait until we return to OZ later in the year.

Or option two, make a close tolerance draw/draws out of wood without runners, or just make a false floor with lift out section for access, which is`nt entirely bad as I could remove sections to chuck in jerry cans etc, and just find some containers that are easy to get out instead a draw.

Paul, your still coming them mate, your Misses has`nt opted out, due to Lebanon. The only dangerous thing here is the roads, but when you get into the desert your safe, just camels, not suicidal indians, pakistani`s and locals.
