Runners are "Hettich" rated to 90kg from memory

Th eonly problem travelling like that is the fumes coming in the back door

Where do you get the runners .. I setup a tray system years ago and that was the hardest part of it..

if you make your drawer etc from ply line the bottom edge and side adge (and mating surfaces of the carcas with thin poly sheet material as it will wear longer and slide easier. Not hard to rout out a little ply to reess the poly sheet so only a little is showing.

I know where you can get all different sizes of the slide rails in Sharjah. I'm starting a project for the Disco soon....Jason's also doing one and Niel needs a set for his Disco....

I had a draw made up once for the Range Rover by a mate who has a kitchen factory. The thing was so heavy it needed 2 people to lift it into the RR

Needless to say, it's no longer with us. However I used the draw runners for an aluminium frame & draw in the back of the Defender. From memory the runners are rated at 100 or 150kg. Anyway, I thought that if anyone was looking for a draw runner solution, trying a kitchen factory may be an option. Make sure you specify the h/duty ones though.

just wondering about ply draw construction, do people glue it and nail it or use screws ?? and using the screws in the end grain it doesn't split ?

Glue and screw - pre drill the holes.

Just wood screws or is there special screws for ply ?

Have an aluminium or tin draw made up. You get more storage space and a heap less weight. I found an alum box at the metal recyling yard on Canterbury Rd, Bayswater, for $20. There was another one still there last week when I bought mine.
