I've trolled thru dozens of forum threads and am running out of ideas.
I bought a Disco 2 TD5 with the dreaded overheat and plastic dowell issue. It was a non starter.
So far,
Head has been reconditioned & refitted ( steel dowells & 3 hole gasket)
Timing done using locating pins
Injectors fitted with new O rings & copper seals.
New crank sensor fitted.
All oils & coolant done.
Wouldn't start after many purges.- tank half full.
Tried a second ECU - no better.
Today I bought a fuel pressure tester as I was convinced it was a fuel issue & it was even higher than it needs to be.

Nanocom triggers all injectors, it says no faults but scrolling thru it does say imbalance between 3&4 cyls, also the injector codes are incorrect but this is a fine tuning issue, shouldn't cause no start. Cranking shows 207 rpm, and battery does go to 10.47 volts after about 5 secs, its a good battery, showing more cca than spec on the tester.
Any idea's what next? What does aerostart in the intake tell me if it fires?
If I had hair I'd be pulling it out about now..

Have you checked that the ECU isn't immobilised? I know you said you tried another one but just thought I'd ask.
I'd check to see what it says, then try and sync and see what it says after.
Hopefully Sierrafery will chime in,if not send him a PM.
He knows these inside out.
Aerostart basically tells you nothing except you have compression and the valve timing *may* be ok. Compression ignition engines will fire on aerostart.

Nanocom, D2 TD5 only.
That is too low for the injection to trigger.d battery does go to 10.47 volts after about 5 secs,

Just for interest sake, went out and unplugged the injector loom, plugged in the Nanocom (evolution) and cranking speed sits at about 220 rpm, battery voltage on the nanocom showed between 10.0 and 10.7 volts.
That's obviously not actual battery voltage.
It sounds quite lively at those readings.
