Strange 300TDi injector pump - UK import

    Hey folks,

I want to swap the injector pump on my 300Tdi Disco R380.

One of my parts cars is a manual 300TDi Disco the previous owner got shipped from the UK. The injector pump has this strange arm with a spring on a rod and also a little cap thing near the throttle lever on the pump. There are no wires etc other than the solenoid hot wire.

Below is a photo of the strange pump and a 'normal' one:

Anyone know if this pump will be suitable to swap into my Disco?
    Thanks!

Thanks for the idea. There is no other cables etc though - so how would cruise control work? Unless the guy swapped an injector pump from a Disco with cruise control into this one that doesn't have cruise control...

The rest of it is missing...

most likely off an auto with cruise that had the top half of the arm removed which pulls the throttle pressure sense cable for the slushbox.

the cruise control simply pulls the cable youve identified in the red circle to imitate the action of the accelerator pedal.... it relies on a semi complicated utterly confusing selection of vac operated components and electical switches to maintain a set vehicle speed.

    nope..

ITS a pump set up for EDC with most of the EDC hardware removed except what I think is ment to be a buffer to assist in dampening the throttle plate movement when the EDC is doing its thing... ITs a UK auto only thing.

    Ahh ok!
So you can run a pump setup for the electronic gadgetry on a normal 300TDi and just remove all the electronics? Is it the exact same pump (internals/tuning etc) just with some electronics bolted on?

Almost certainly looks like a cannibalised EDC pump, with the TPS section(the round half stripped down wiper part) pulled apart, probably reused in another vehicle or something.
Both EDC and EGR, so no actual need for coffee, but no harm in consuming more too

IIRC the timing on the EDC pumps are a little different than for the non EDC pumps, so if you just swap them out(that is a half EDC pump into a non EDC pump engine) ... you may feel somewhat differently powered.

It is described in a bit of detail in RAVE(300TDi fuel section).
You should have a few unique parts like air flow sensor, boost pressure sensor, engine speed sensor, ECU and injector No. 4 ... unless have also been cannibalised.

All details, again are in RAVE.
