AYG 4354 is the kit conversion, the only thing it doesn’t come with is the locktite, and the big $ it will cost. Taking all things into consideration, why don't you, if you really want the disc break behind, get one out of a pre 97 Disco????? the drive line is very similar only the pro-shaft is different to mil spec L/R, doesn’t have the rubber block at near rear diff flange (has uni joint) so there could be a lenght difference, the only main different between the both ie the obvious ie motor/trans/power steering box/body.

Did'nt relise the pre 97 Disco had a salisbury rear end (I will go out know an get one not only do I get a salsbury but coils an disc as well fit nice under the S111) why would you buy the whole kit (AYG 4354) at huge $$$$ when you can get most of the stuff from car-craft or normal suppliers only use the dealer for the bit you carn't get

From the factory, Discovery Is had banjo style diffs front and rear. If yours has a Salisbury type diff, then someone has changed it. Conversely, 110s and Defenders had Salisbury rear axles, up until recently when they went back to a Rover Banjo diff.

Yeah, thanks for those posts guys, I was hoping someone with a continually heavily laden 130 or similar, would pipe up and tell me the rotors and pads, on his salisbury setup, had lasted more than 100k's, but maybe 130 owners go through their rear brakes quickly?. It really appears that I'm better off sticking with what I know works(doesn't that sound like Land Rover all over). Anyway, thanks again

Well, I have never felt the need to go to disc brakes at the back - I have only replaced the shoes and pads (plus rotors - but not drums!) once in over 400,000km, and last service there was plenty left both front and rear.

My county came with rear disc brakes /salisbury diff but took in for a RWC and need to replace pads and rotors borderline- not sure which ones to order-their solid rotors and calipers have LB10BY057AG stamped on it?
