4hp22 transmission “ clutch pack clearance
I am after the measurements for the A CLUTCH PACK clearance?
is it measured with pack compressed using air or resting in its off position.
I have a measurement of .020”-.025” from a “A” clutch upgrade kit which ads more fibres (6) in the kit. Sounds a bit tight compared to mine now being approx .070”+ it’s a bit hard to get a accurate measurement with 2 wave steels in the pack.
Has anyone tried eliminating one of the wave steels & what was the result?
If the 2 waves were eliminated it would make way for the additional fibre in the “A” pack making it 7 .
Any advice would be appreciated.
Also found these. Clutch F : .025” - .030”
Clutch E : .025” - .035”

Leave the wave Steels in, otherwise the A pack will have a harsh change and a short life.
0.020" to 0.025" is fine for the upgrade pack A clutch.
Measurement taken without compressed air.
