I've got the Tunit as well, but it was on the car when I got it, so know nothing about it. I wouldn't mind some info too, please, Angus.Originally Posted by mcguckiana

I am also curious about peoples experience with the plug in chips / computer modules. What experience have you had with them, Power gains and any fuel consumption change.
Has anyone put LPG onto there diesels yet?
The Tunit system is just a piggy back computer that is plugged into before the ECU. It is now called the DPchip. See www.dpchip.com for more info.
The Tunit has the benefit of being adjustable. The unit has a series of pins with an adjustor cap thingy (?) which you can move to different pins to up the power and torque and lower it. I run mine on the middle setting around town and on the higher setting when I have the 265 Muddies on as it helps with the drivability.
The power improvements are really good. In the highest setting the acceleration is great (but produces a lot more smoke) but it is a bit hard to drive smoothly as the turbo comes on alot quicker.
I have a manual so the power goes from 101kw to 129 (presumably on the highest setting) and the torque from 300 to 363 nm. It is higher for the auto obviously. I wouldnt have a clue how it compares to the chip replacements that you can get from the likes of Bruce Davis etc.
I think this system has the benefit of not permanently altering the ECU and plus it is adjustable. Means I dont always have to have it dialed up high.
There are pics of it online.
Cheers
Angus
The BD "chip" is really just a re-map of the existing chip. Looks exactly the same as the factory one, because it is, apart from the programming.![]()
