Wolf and Haltech make decent mid range budget units that are dual or multi programmable, meaning you can have one fuel map for lpg and one fuel map for petrol, this will give peak performance on both fuel types instead of the compromise most of us with lpg vehicles have to suffer.. The wolf has a a dual programme with one on board map and another on a card that can be changed, so you could set the on board up for lpg and the cards up for petrol, with an economy petrol programme in as normal and another lets go hard programme. Have a chat to the guy's at Wolf, they are very helpful

I was heading down this path with my Rangie as I was going to convert it back from dedicated lpg to dual fuel, but then bought the Fender and sold the Rangie.
From memory I think the Wolf system is about $1600. But will save you any further MAF issues as it is widely known the MAF on the V8 Rover motors do not like lpg backfire.
Hmm, I wonder if one of these could be used on a diesel??? Worth some thought. Maybe they could put one in my Fender as a trial???

make sure u check out how much to get it tunned too though, because more than likely u will need to put it on a Dyno a couple of times and then everytime u change something, and dyno's aren't cheap.... and in the end the $1600, will blow out to $3000, as I looked into once apon a time...

Found this on RPi's website...We have found the issue of "Backfire" on LPG conversions is nearly always caused by poor quality or older Plug leads, and often even new std quality ones will be problematic.
If not convinced you should try replacing going through a Hot car wash, and see how well it drives when it comes out. The huge rise in damp/humidity is sure to show up the worst in any lpg engine, with regards it plug wires.& igntion system. In all cases we would use spiral wound magnecore leads only.

Also I have heard running a LPG tank nearly empty will cause a backfire as well...
