Hi
Does it turn over a few times then start....if so it might be the starter motor, when the starter motor gets a bit old they take more power to turn over, unfortunately then the fuel ECU doesn't get enough power so it basically shuts down.
Sorry I haven't figured out a test for this other then replacing starter motor.
Mine has had trouble starting 4 times in 2 years. It turned over OK but did not fire. The last time it did this my son had it. He took the key out and put it back in and it started first pop. He is an auto 'lecy so he said the computer probably reset itself.
The time before I was showing a mate over the Discovery as he offered to deliver a camper trailer to friends in Wagga. I warned him that I had some trouble starting in the past and blow me down if it did not start while I was showing him over it. It wound over for about 3 minutes before he said the battery would not handle it. It eventually fired and he had no troubles after that.
Try taking key out and re-insert it and try again.
Hope this helps.
