Hello from Sherwood.

I have installed a standard Autosparks loom in to my 1975 88” petrol truck. In addition, there has also been a number of other bits and pieces added that were either fitted to later Series 3’s or not but thought to be useful. This includes - reversing lights, hazard lights, and brake fail circuit test light, two speed wipers, interior light, rear fog lamp, tachometer, oil temperature gauge, lights on warning buzzer and auxiliary power sockets.

Some of this was supported by additional Autosparks sub-looms (reverse lights, hazards and brake test) and other with basic Narva or Lucas off the shelf bits or similar from auto parts sources. I did it all myself and, while not an electrician, tried to do it as well as possible. In several cases the Autosparks stuff had to be modified a little and in others the power source wires were added to the existing four fuse box.

To the pointy end - there is a short or failure somewhere in the circuit and I’m having a bit of trouble tracking it down. Keen not to have the whole show compromised by further solo amateur investigation and would greatly benefit from having someone with fair Rover electrics knowledge looking over my shoulder ready to intervene or expedite the process of rectifying the root problem.

Anyone in Brisbane happy to come and take a look?

Cheers,

Neil
