Thread: Looking for a better engine oil

@perthdisco That's where I got my engine and yes I use that oil. Unfortunately as you stated not available in oz and most likely not in other parts of the world either. So I am going to have to rely on getting whatever I can get whilst traveling since it will be neigh impossible to drag so much oil along or have it shipped to wherever I am. From that RAT540 guy the "best" I can probably get in oz is castrol gtx 20w50.

I have considered installing a pre-oiler for my flat tappet engine but have not gotten around to really sitting and thinking about it.

The interesting bit was that ZDDP was phased out in most mineral oils due to catalytic converter fouling post 1990s (not because it wasn’t an excellent lubricant).

Hence why old petrol engine fans looking at diesel oils with higher zinc levels in 15W40

On the other hand just change the oil in your old school classic super regularly.
