    10AS alarm immobiliser wiring

Hoping someone has investigated this in the past. the 10AS immobiliser was used in the TD5 and Puma Defers up to 2014 ish and used in the D2 and P38 RR (probably the D1 too). I assume the 10AS output signal will be common across all 10AS application. I'm doing an LS conversion into a Puma and want to keep the passive immobiliser feature. Hoping to get an answer without the need to pull the dash for an invesgative exercise at the 10AS unit.

The Puma wiring schematic states that the 10AS sends a signal to the instrument cluster, the signal passes through the cluster to the ECU (not on canbus). ECU uses that signal to isolate the ground on the starter relay coil. The +ve on the starter relay coil comes from the ignition barrel. There are no other connections from the immobiliser or ECU that is shown on the schematic when it comes to the immobiliser features, thus assume the only thing the ECU controls is the ground to the starter relay. Either way, the Puma ECU is not being used and i'm investigating a way to set up a passive immobiliser without the ECU in the system. So what i want to know:

    1) is the signal from the 10AS that passes through the cluster to the ECU is a ground or +ve signal.
    2) if +ve, what voltage
    3) is the ground or +ve provided when the immobiliser is active or inactive.

    Thanks in advance
    MLD

i can add to the above. In the TD5 defer the 10AS unit has the same signal wire i referred to (pin 14) to the ECU, but also has a gnd signal to the starter relay from pin 10 on the green plug (pin 10 on the Puma is not connected). Seems that in the TD5 defer the 10AS unit does the start relay isolation not the ECU as it does in the Puma. Same net result. Been told the RRC is the same as the TD5.

My questions still stand as i'd like to know the actions of the immobiliser to rig up the same effect sans the ECU. Gut feeling it will be a ground signal to the ECU but whether its ground on active alarm or de-activated alarm the schematics do not say. Failing that, might be able to simply pin in pin 10 for a ground to the starter relay and replicate the TD5 set up. No idea if need to program the 10AS to turn on pin 10.

In the new Files section I uploaded a sort of generic alarm info thing. I haven't even read it, but maybe it may have something for you.

10AS was NOT used in the D2 or the P38.

    Only in D1, and Defenders.

They are so unreliable these days you’d be mad to try and keep it if you don’t need to.

Thanks for correcting that. According to the doc Tins linked to, D2 had 10AS up to 1999. Reason i thought the P38 and D2 had it because the documents refer to GEMS operating system in one of the configurations.
