On a 1/93 Disco V8i auto, 7 seater, early build [small square headlights] when/if you look behind plastic mouldings next to rear lights wiring/bulbs on driver's side of car ...there's a pair of wires with bullet type ends, plugged off by removable rubbers, one always having 12V, the other going to earth.....my intention is to connect a 12V power point/Sutars socket to here....I will put an inline fuse here....but my Q is what is/was this usally for?.... and is it fused at the fusebox/or elsewhere?.......also does anyone know off hand what the Aussie colour standards for trailer wiring are???[ as used on an ARB towbar]

look here for your wiring colour codes......
http://www.noboundaries.com.au/Hints%20and%20tips.htm

and whilst you are looking behind your tail lights......if you look up into the drivers side rear guard
from underneath.....tucked up behind the tail light there should be a plug which should have a rubber cap
on it to keep it clean.....this is for a harness which is available from land rover which plugs in and has the standard wiring colours for a trailer plug.....
if you just tap into this wiring without the overpriced harness it will be better than overloading the vehicles
lighting harness with all the trailer lights......
