I assume this box is the same as the LT95 fitted to the 110, and if so, looking at the manual, it looks as if you should be able to replace it with the top off the gearbox. Have never actually had this box apart though!

On a 83 RR with the "later" 4 speed gearbox if you accidently remove the wired up reverse gear engagement pivot bolt, can you replace it correctly via the cover plate adjacent if you remove it?......or is it a gearbox out job?

Byron is it not just a bolt that holds the cover plate on with a hole in for the wire?
Yes you should be able to do it with the cover off the side and the top
You can take this cover off and remove the reverse gear and shaft but it comes from the back ie inside the transfer box so that cover has to come off as well....all this is from memory.
Yes it is a LT95 box one of the strongest ever made

What would life be without a Rangie?
What I need to do is put back the wired up bolt that acts as the pivot for the reverse lever and pin.....don't really want to do ANYTHING else....I have put it back IN, but it's not in the hole in the lever......so I need to know if I can somehow hold the lever in position whilst replacing this pivot bolt without major/ish dismantling......OK guys?.....Thanks heaps!Originally Posted by Bradtot

From memory you should be able to.
You have to watch that the shift fork is the right distance from the side of the case as well as having the hole lined up to start the bolt into the thread. If you just push the bolt up to the fork, with the fork pushed right across and screw it in, the fork will bind.

OK....so can that be done via the 4 bolt side plate off only?Originally Posted by Bush65
